The Art of Ellie Rusinova
Artist Statement: I am a mixed media artist, fascinated with the stories of the world. Myths, spirituality, deities and the dark underbelly of our unconscious are the main fuel for my creativity. I feel they represent a deep connection between all of humanity, past and present, creating links with both our ancestors and our future generations. As the world has grown more superficial, the debate on the human condition is often satisfied with little more than either fanatical, literal reading of a single religious text, or a complete abandonment of spirituality in favor of materialism. It is my goal to bring to my viewers the rich world of mythological beings, transformed through the lens of modern understanding of their guiding principles, in order to impart a deeper understanding of our rich, personal inner worlds.
